The Nacozari paper ran an article about the Chain Gang the last time they passed through. Judy's translation of the body of the text...
"Their first visit was made the last day of March of this year. Imagen caught them at a central gas station in town. It was there where the North Americans were interviewed and also informed about the tourist attractions of the region, especially about the inactive mine of Pilares. The tourist were fascinated with the information provided by the reporter and the well illustrated magazine that spoke about that magic place that hosted thousands of people dedicated to the explotation of the mineral many decades ago.
As before, at the head of the group was the founder, Steve Johnson, Mrs. Maralan Hutchins and her husband John Stock. They travel all over the world sponsored by the prestigious enterprise of motorcycle maker BMW, specifically the type F650. From there, the name of their association "The Chain Gang International F650 Riders".
Again they fullfilled their promise to return to this place and bring with them gifts for the poor children. This time they brought funds that were received by the President of the DIF, Mrs Maria de Jesus Encinas de Tarin and her husband, the Mayor, Dr Manuel de Jesus Tarin Urrea. "We will use the money to buy toys this Christmas along with the presents that the DIF has collected this year. It will benefit the children this Holiday season" The president of the DIF said."
Hee, hee. Sponsored by BMW!
